The Virginia Port Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers cordially invite you to attend the third Craney Island Eastward Expansion Contractor Open House. The event will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Waterfront Conference Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. ALL contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers interested in immediate and future contract opportunities associated with the Craney Island Eastward Expansion are welcomed to attend. The purpose of the Open House is to provide important new project details including an overview of the selected design, materials quantities, permitting, and project schedule. Event speakers will provide details of first construction project, including estimated quantities, draft drawings and specifications. The agenda will also include an overview of contracting and procurement methods. | Community Open Houses
Public involvement is a vital part of Craney Island Eastward Expansion project development. The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District (NAO) will host two public open house information meetings in April. The event will include a interactive project presentation. Information posters will be on display, and representatives from VPA and NAO will be available to explain the project, answer questions, and receive comments from the public.
