| Community Open Houses
Public involvement is a vital part of Craney Island Eastward Expansion project development. The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District (NAO) will host two public open house information meetings in April. The event will include a interactive project presentation. Information posters will be on display, and representatives from VPA and NAO will be available to explain the project, answer questions, and receive comments from the public. Contractor Open House February 21, 2008 The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will host a second Contractor Open House for vendors and sub-contractors interested in upcoming contract opportunities associated with the Craney Island Eastward Expansion. The purpose of the Open House is to provide important new project details including an overview of the selected dike design concept, construction cost estimates, materials quantities, permitting, and project schedule. The agenda will also include an overview of contracting and procurement methods. This event is a don’t miss opportunity to gain valuable new insight into this multi-million dollar marine construction project.
